Hockey is the better sport because its a fast playing game with contact being a big part of it. To a lot of people contact games are more appealing because of the simple fact that their is contact involved in it. I like hockey because of the fast play and contact. Side: Hockey is the better sport

Is just as hard to get a ball in a small net 10 feet in the air with someone who is 6'6" trying to stop you. There is a lot more contact that goes unnoticed in Basketball. There is physical contact every time basketball players go up and down the court. Especially with no protection whatsoever. Side: Basketball is the better sport

So, you're saying there's no contact in basketball? There's contact all the time that you don't even realize. You also said that it's not exciting in a close basketball game. Any sport that is close in score and coming down to the wire will be entertaining. Side: Basketball is the better sport

Basketball is a better sport because it can be played many different ways by playing a man defense or a zone defense. On the offensive end you can change plays up in so many different ways that you will never no what's coming. In hockey your just trying to get the puck in the net and there is not as many concepts used as in basketball. In hockey you know what they will be doing most of the time unlike basketball where it is unpredictable. Side: Basketball is the better sport
In Basketball, you are trying to get the ball in the hoop, just as in Hockey, when you try to get the puck in the net. Compared to each other, each sport is the same in it's basic principles. Each side has a goal to get the "ball" to the goal point while preventing the other team from accomplishing the same goal. I think it's unfair to say one sport takes less or more skill than another, especially if you don't have experience in both fields/activities. Both sports are complex, but I think hockey is better because it's more fun to watch. The speed, the brutality, and the crowd, fuels the game and the passion and strength noticeably reek in the air. I just think it's more exciting. Side: Hockey is the better sport

You cannot say one sport is better than the other if you don't know the other sport. Yes, it is your opinion, but not a fact. If you don't know or haven't played the sport you are arguing against, it is not going to be a good argument on your side. Side: Basketball is the better sport
