Do video games/TV cause violence?

Yes, they do.

I think they do because a lot of people play grand theft auto. They want to be just like the people on that game, so they go out and start a rampage. You know a lot of people watch tv too. There's obviously people watching bad shows about violence. I have no idea how it posses people to do that, but they do it. They go out kill a couple people for money, or just to kill them. So, again, yes I do think TV shows and video games causes violence.

I would agree but video games shouldn't be to blame if someone decides to steal a car. Just because someone plays a violent video game doesn't mean they should be excused from their violent tendencies.

Just because people play a violent video game does not mean it changes them. After they play a game, they most likely will not want to go killing everyone. People say violent video games cause shootings too. It is said that the shooters played little to no violent video games. It does not make sense.

I don't think video games cause violence, if you are violent that's you. You can't blame it on something else.

I believe that some video games cause violence. When you're a little kid watching your older siblings play games like "Grand Theft Auto," you can steal and out run the cops, the kids think that is cool and don't think of the consequences. When a kid is high playing some kind of stealing game he might try to go out and do it because it gives him a "rush of energy." When playing "Zombies" a kid might want to go out and practice for when "the zombies come."

I believe that video games and TV can cause violence. If people get extremely addicted to a killing kind of game they might feel like actually trying it in real life. People could pick up habits from the game or TV shows. Even little kids might wanna try to hurt people because it is how they grew up. People might get it stuck in their head that hurting people is alright and not even realize that what they are doing is totally wrong. I'm not saying that violence on video games or TV will affect everyone, but I think it will affect some peoples minds. If you are playing violent games it is not teaching you good habits in real life you might pick up.

if you are addicted to shooter games you will more than likely want to keep doing that on games and sometimes people who only play first person shooters dont know how to load guns properly.

for the most part it doesn't but for some people it does. but the studies show that it is more of a stress reliever, like me i play first person shooters to get rid of anger. the games have also been shown to help with hand eye coordination. others help with problem solving like puzzle games such as portal. there is even a game that can help tell if people have Alzheimer's and how progressive it is.

I personally do not the that all video games cause violence. There are a lot of video games that influence creativity and inspire people do do things they will never be able to do. An example of this type is video game Minecraft. Minecraft lets you build whatever you want, but still making you work for what you want to build. Minecraft also allows you to work with people you have never met, but build magnificent things using team work. Another example of a video game that helps is Forza. The reason for this is that Forza encourages competitiveness and allows people to have fun while they compete.

Yes, there are games that don't cause violence. That is impossible to deny. Growing up in the age of Oregon Trail, I know that games can be seeming educational. However, the violence of video games make students use the violence in "educational" games. Have you ever destroyed another character on Minecraft? I know that you would put your least favorite person as the last character on Oregon Trail so they would die. It's too easy to destroy in video games.

yes i have killed another player in Minecraft but there is nothing graphic about it and you will more than likely going to be annoyed because the person you killed is probably a little kid and he will yell at you in a high pitched tone.

I don't believe that video games/TV cause violence (at least not high enough on charts to be noticabley changing) there are plenty of games/TV shows that are non-violent or have safe/block settings to turn off blood and restrict certain, parts of games/TV shows. The video game/TV violence debate, is ridiculous and is just a poor excuse for bad parenting. If you pay attention and control what your children watch/play you won't have to worry about the chance of video games/TV causing these violent tendencies, and chances are if your child is acting up, these issues have already been fermenting beneath the surface.

What if your children are at their cousins for the weekend and their parents allow them to play those kinds of games? T

Then it would be your responsibility to clarify what your children can/cannot watch/play, especially if you know what kind of parents they are (what their style of parenting is). So, again, that is all up to the parent and their skills as a parent. Your child. Your responsibility.
